Democratic winners in village election thank volunteers, voters and Republican candidates

To the editor,

Before the dust settles on another invigorating election, we’d like to express our deepest gratitude for choosing us to serve on the Village of Pelham Board of Trustees for the next few years.

Thank you to all those who have volunteered their time on both sides of the political aisle, knocking on doors, canvassing at Decicco’s and the train station, or making last minute phone calls to friends and neighbors. At the end of the day, this is what government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” looks like. Over 1,400 voters showed up on Tuesday to cast their ballots—what an amazing example of democracy in action.

In particular, we’d like to extend our thanks to Candice Ripoll, Steve Doka, Arthur Long and Leroy Marriott. Running for office is a daunting task, especially in a village as small as ours, where political positions can so quickly become intertwined with personal relationships. We have tremendous respect for anyone willing to step up for the village we all love. Thank you for your passion and your commitment to advancing our community.

Moving forward, we hope the next few years will be a time of productive collaboration, and we welcome participation from each of our neighbors. We believe we are all invested in Pelham and the road ahead must be traveled together. Thank you for this opportunity.
