Rugby, track, softball, girls’ golf players are Athletes of the Week

Seniors Alex Walker, Peyton Rees, Jeremy Camiguel, KP Boggs, Ella Stern, Charlie Miske, Sara Veteri and Madelyn Dunbar, junior Catherine Taubner and sophomore Juan Carlos Matos were named PMHS Athletes of the Week.

Playing for the varsity rugby team, Walker has been an instrumental force on defense and offense while Camiguel and Matos each scored three times. Ella Stern, Petyon Rees and Charlie Miske had great performances for the spring track team. Stern won the league championship in the high jump while Rees was a double winner at the tri-meet against Rye and Eastchester, placing first in discus with a throw of 81’ and shot-put at 31’. In the tri-race, Miske was victorious in the mile. Dunbar has starred for the girls’ lacrosse team, holding Albertus Magnus’ top scorer to zero goals in a 13-12 win and forcing 3 turnovers against Brewster. Boggs has notched 7 wins for the softball team, totalling more than 90 strikeouts and pitched a no-hitter against Rye in a 6-0 win. At the plate, she is batting .453 with a .556 on-base percentage. Veteri and Taubner have been instrumental in helping the girls’ golf team to an outstanding start to the season.
