Laura Nastasi – July 29

Born in Mount Vernon, New York to Giuseppe and Elvira Leone. Laura was the youngest of two children. She was raised in Mount Vernon where she attended Edison Vocational & Technical High School. It was shortly after graduating that she would meet her husband of 51 years, Frank Nastasi. They would marry in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon on April 7th, 1951.

To say Laura was an active person would be an understatement. While raising her children, she worked as a legal secretary for Gilberg and Gilberg Law Firm in Mount Vernon for over 30 years. She was also a Notary and a member of The Ursuline Guild of St. Ursula Church in Mount Vernon.

In her spare time, Laura loved to knit, play cards, do crossword puzzles, travel to Vegas or simply dance with her husband. She also loved watching law programs and share her legal knowledge with others. But most of all, in her later years, Laura loved to spend time with her 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She always put her children and family first.

Laura will be remembered as a generous, loving and caring person. While she could be talkative at times, she was also quiet, loyal and respectful.

Laura leaves behind her two daughters, Karen E. Dellaripa and her husband, Joe of Pelham, Lori Stern and her husband, Marty of Cortlandt Manor, her brother, Paul Leone of Mount Vernon and her 5 grandchildren, Joey, Frankie and Lindsay Dellaripa, Matthew and Steven Stern and her 7 great grandchildren, Anthony, Vincent and John (JJ) Dellaripa, Emilia, Johnny, Harris and Clark Stern. She is predeceased by her husband Frank. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
