Town of Pelham to remember 10 community members who lost lives on 9/11

The Town of Pelham, in conjunction with the Fire and Police Departments of Pelham and Pelham Manor, along with Pelham Post #50 of the American Legion, will hold its Annual Remembrance Ceremonies of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Wednesday, September 11 at 8:30 AM at the Pelham 9/11 Memorial on Harmon Avenue.

The ceremony will include the reading of the names of the 10 Pelham community members who lost their lives during the attack, ecumenical prayers, various readings and an honor salute and the playing of “Taps” by a member of Pelham Post #50. There will also be the ringing of the firefighter’s bell 3-4-3 for the 343 firefighters who died at the World Trade Center terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.

The 10 victims of the World Trade Center attack on 9/11 who have ties to Pelham are: Michael Boccardi, Montgomery Hord, Thomas Hynes, FDNY Lt. Joseph Leavey, Robert McLaughlin, Amy O’Doherty, Robert Scandole, Daniel Shea, Joseph Shea and Michael Tamuccio.
