Pelham Memorial High School is extremely pleased to announce that eight students were named 2020 National Merit Commended Students.

Albert Ai, Lucas Fredbeck, Lukas Glist, Michael McInerney, Stephanie Munn, Emily Nakayama, Matyas Spunberg and Sophie Xu were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for placing among 34,000 students nationwide who were recognized for their exceptional academic promise. National Commended students were chosen from the top 50,000 scorers of the more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition by taking the PSAT exam last year. Earlier this month, three additional students were named National Merit Semifinalists.

Three PMHS students were previously named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists.

“Each year we feel so fortunate to have students recognized among the top of their class from across the country,” said PMHS Principal Jeannine Clark. “I’m extremely proud of our eight commended students, both for their academic achievements and for their outstanding  representation of our high school.”
