Barbara Ann Basciano – Oct. 28

After a fearless battle, Barbara Ann Basciano of Mount Vernon, NY died peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2019. She was 70 years old.

Barbara was born in Manhattan New York to Sam and Mary Gugliotta. She was raised and attended local schools in the Bronx before graduating from Aquinas High School. Upon graduating she answered her calling to be a caregiver to many people over the years. Barbara would meet Mark the love of her life at Marty and Lenny’s Disco in New Rochelle. It was love at first sight. The couple would wed and raise their two children in Mount Vernon.

In her spare time Barbara really enjoyed traveling, spending time at the pool and beach, hosting holiday parties and reading. Barbara was the social glue that held everyone together. She was an inspiring role model and offered unconditional love to her two children. She was an adored grandmother to her beautiful granddaughters, Sarafina and Amelia Deighton.

Barbara is survived by her husband Mark, her children Melissa Mulrooney Deighton (James) and Mark Joseph Basciano. She will be missed by her two granddaughters Sarafina and Amelia. She is also survived by her sister Linda and her aunt Loretta Marotta. She will be missed by everyone she knew. Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Sam Gugliotta.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave in Pelham, NY on Friday, November 1st from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St’s. Peter and Paul and St. Ursula Church located at 129 East Birch Street in Mount Vernon NY on Saturday November 2nd at 10:00am. Interment will be private.
