Anne Reyna – Jan. 4

Anne Patricia Reyna, of Pelham Manor NY, passed away on January 4th, 2020. She was 71 years old. Anne was born and raised in Cashel, Co. Tipperary, to Patrick and Agnes Donovan with her siblings Michael, John and Mary. As a young woman Anne was an extremely bright and academic. After graduating her Leaving Certificate, she went on to attend Limerick Regional Hospital Nursing School where she studied Nursing and Midwifery. While studying in Limerick she was recruited by The New Rochelle Hospital in New York State and worked there as an Operating Room Nurse and Operating Room Nurse Manager for 33 years.

Anne loved to spend time socializing with her many friends. It was one night while working at the hospital she went out dancing at the Hitching Post and she met the love of her life Leon Reyna. Leon was drawn to her beautiful eyes and smile as she glided around the dance floor. A year later the couple married at St Gabriel’s Church in New Rochelle and would later move to Pelham Manor where they made a beautiful home for themselves.

Anne was a wonderfully kind and generous person to all who knew her. She was passionate about giving back to her community and volunteered her time to many charitable organizations. In her spare time she loved reading, crosswords, game shows and travel. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and travelled home often. She was also a superb host and loved spending time with the people she loved.

Anne is survived by her husband of 45 years Leon, her brother Michael, her sisters-in-law Gail and Síle, her nieces, nephews, extended family, her dearest friend Anne Kenny and all her wonderful friends.

A celebration of Anne’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave, Pelham, New York on Monday January 13th from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 575 Fowler Ave, Pelham Manor New York on Tuesday January 14th at 10:00am.
