Carmela Stabile – Jan. 10

Carmela Stabile, of Pelham, NY formerly of the Bronx entered into rest January 10, 2020, She was 88, born June 27, 1931 in New York to Ferdinando and Adelina Martire Marzullo.

Carmela was the widow of Vincent A. Stabile. Carmela was an Elementary School teacher at P.S. 16 in the Bronx. She went to church every Sunday, loved to travel, reading, doing Arts and Crafts, making Lasagna and the smell of Lavender. A vibrant, generous, loving, helpful woman who was extremely devoted to her family.

Carmela was a graduate of Columbus High School, Hunter College and Lehman College were she earned a Masters in Education.

Carmela loved volunteering, she belong to the United Federation of Teachers, Boys Club of America, Pelham Womans Club, Pelham Seniors Club, the Manor Club and Accent on Antiques.

Carmela is survived by her daughter Claudia Stabile; A sister Anna Marzullo; daughter in law Allison Stabile, grandsons Christopher and Joshua Stabile; nieces Fern Artego, Adele and Angela Russell, Angela Messina and Angela Magliano; nephew Vincent Russell, Matthew Marzullo and Thomas Amatulli; and numerous grandnephews and grandnieces.

Pre-deceased by her husband Vincent A. Stabile , a son Vincent J. Stabile and her brother John Marzullo.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday January 14, 2020 at the Pelham Funeral home 64 Lincoln ave. Pelham, NY 10803, 914-738-1060.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday January 15, 2020, 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 559 Pelham Manor Rd. Pelham, NY 10803, Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Valhalla, NY.
