Pelham, NY (January 28, 2020) – A. G. Williams Painting Company has always been a company that believes in giving back to the community. This commitment has been demonstrated by supporting charities, religious institutions, non-profit organizations and youth sports teams. At the center of these efforts has been President and CEO George Williams. In recognition of his charitable work, Mr. Williams recently received the James Plevritis-Joseph C. Keane Chapter Legends and Honorees Award from the New Rochelle chapter of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA).

“I am humbled and honored to receive this award from AHEPA,” said George Williams. “They are the unsung heroes that do amazing things for our community”.

The many and varied efforts Mr. Williams and his company have spearheaded include donating over $100,000 in painting services to Stamford’s Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in New Rochelle, and to the victims of an arson attack in White Plains. For the past 12 years, AG Williams has also donated over $1.2 million dollars’ worth of cash and services to charities throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties. The company has supported organizations and projects such as the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester, the Rye YMCA, Her Haven, The Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle, Friends of the Scarsdale Library, Greenwich Music and Art Camp, Support Connection and the Weill Cornell Children’s Brain Tumor project.

Mr. Williams, a long-time parishioner of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in New Rochelle, was the recipient of their 2017 Trinity Award for his long-term commitment to the church and community.  A.G. Williams is currently in the process of establishing the 501C3 nonprofit A.G. Williams Foundation, which will serve as a conduit to worthy causes and provide scholarships to members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church along with company workers and their families. A.G. Williams has received various accolades, such as the Summit Community Engagement Certified Award from Nolan Consulting Group in Conshohocken, PA, the “General Excellence Award” from 914INC Magazine and a “Family Business Award” from Westfair Communications. 914INC also recognized George Williams as one of Westchester’s “Best Bosses”.  Williams serves on several church board of trustees, donates to veterans groups and supports the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

George Williams’ strong sense of community and commitment to charitable causes have earned him praise from fellow employees, clients and friends alike. Whether it’s a church event, an AHEPA event, a local little league, an employee in need or a client’s house that burned down, George is always willing to step up and help people out”.
