Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Pelham (Union Free) School District.

As we welcome our students back from the Winter Recess, we recognize that it is common for families to have traveled to a variety of locations, including overseas. In light of the recent health concerns abroad we wanted to remind everyone to exercise caution when dealing with illnesses.

Below please find some informational resources about ongoing state and global health concerns.

As a reminder, the District’s guidelines regarding illness dictates that if your child has a temperature of greater than 100.0 he/she needs to stay home. They can return to school after being fever free for 24 hours without the help of fever reducers.
Our students’ well-being is always our utmost concern and we support parents’ proactive efforts to ensure their children are healthy and ready to learn. Our teachers will always work with families to ensure absences related to illness do not hinder academic progress.
We also encourage parents to visit a doctor if you are concerned about your child’s symptoms.
