Burbio.com, a Pelham-based  community events platform that streams school, government, library and non-profit event information from across the U.S., has added online and virtual events to its service as the Covid-19 crisis shuts down community activity in the nation.

“As communities across the U.S. issued ‘Stay at Home’ orders, we immediately began noticing the introduction of virtual events by community groups to stay engaged,” said Burbio founder Julie Roche. “They range from local libraries and arts groups to bigger organizations such as museums and zoos.”

Burbio is launching it’s “virtual” initiative by distributing the event content through media partners, kicking off with the Pelham Examiner, where the content will be seen on the Examiner’s homepage. Listings will include online events from across Westchester County, as well as selected events from organizations around the U.S.

In addition to its Burbio.com consumer service, Burbio distributes local event information to partners ranging from Microsoft to local broadcasters and real estate firms nationwide. Among other content, Burbio streams more than 80,000 K-12 school calendars and 15,000-plus library calendars.

“We are thrilled to be launching this helpful initiative with the Pelham Examiner,” said Roche. “Pelham is our home and it’s where we have introduced everything first before it goes across the U.S.”

On the Examiner’s desktop homepage, the Burbio Calendar of Virtual Events can be found in a right-column box that is scrollable so users can view events weeks from now. It also also scrollable on mobile.
