Suffocating

Happiness overcame the young face,

When even the smallest opportunity came.

A smile that was carefree.

Radiant memories pranced around in her brain,

But the ones she wished would disappear,

Wouldn’t.

Her chapter of fairy tales came to an end,

An end she wasn’t prepared for.

Instead of her declaration for dreams,

She attacked herself with stress.

Pressure fills to the brim.

She feels it,

Like a virus slowly taking control.

She feels it

her.

She feels the pressure to

Say the right thing,

Never give up,

Never says no,

Be depended on,

Be the one who isn’t jealous,

But all she is doing is suffocating.

Holding up the sky,

So no one else should have to feel her pain
