Pelham – The TMC Evening Section will present Kathie O’Callaghan and members of the Hearts and Homes for Refugees group she founded to speak on “Refugees and Asylees: The Facts” on Thursday, Nov. 15, 7:30 PM.

Definitions of a refugee and asylee will be explained. Points of discussion will include:

  • The dramatic reduction in the number of refugees allowed to enter the U.S.
  • Explanation of Special Immigration Visa holders (Afghans and Iraqis who have worked with our troops overseas)
  • What Hearts and Homes for Refugees and other local organizations are doing to help refugees and asylees.

The presentation will be followed by an opportunity to write postcards advocating for increased refugee admissions, increased admissions of SIV holders, and humane treatment for those seeking asylum.
