Dr. Richard Sturnmacher, chief of the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Northern Westchester Hospital, will discuss with parents the vaping epidemic among teens on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Pelham Middle School library. The event is being sponsored by the Pelham Memorial High School and PMS PTAs, Pelham Together and Student Assistance Services.

Topics will include nicotine and the adolescent brain, health risks associated with nicotine, differences between vape devices, flavorants and chemicals in vapes and wax pens and vaping, as well as how to successfully talk to your kids about vaping.
