PMHS students join global school strike for climate March 15
On Friday, March 15, students at Pelham Memorial High School will participate in a walkout as part of an international strike on school demanding climate mitigation efforts. Inspired by the work of teenage Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and protests and marches around the world, students will gather outside the front of the high school starting at 10 a.m. and address their peers on the necessity for immediate and universal climate action. The district and Principal Clark are coordinating with the student organizers to ensure that the students are able to express their First Amendment rights in a safe manner that is minimally disruptive to the school day. The school is in no way encouraging students to participate, or not participate in this walkout. It will conclude at 10:27 a.m.
