Leah Tahbaz, president of the Pelham PTA Council, said she will seek election to the Board of Education.
In addition to heading the PTA Council, Tahbaz is a member of the Pelham School District’s wellness committee and a board member of Pelham Together, according to an emailed press release. She has served on several other local boards, including the Junior League, the Pelham Children’s Center, the Pelham Education Foundation and the Community Care Center, as well as the school district’s diversity and security committees.
Tahbaz and her family have lived in Pelham since 2003. All four Tahbaz children attend or have attended the Pelham public schools, the release said. Prior to her life in Pelham, Tahbaz worked in the estates and appraisals department at Christie’s auction house and as an attorney in private practice and at the New York State Supreme Court.
