Pelham Board of Education expected to award tenure to 3 teachers, 2 teaching assistants at Tuesday meeting

The Board of Education will meet at 8:15 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in the Pelham Middle School Library, 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803. Prior to the public meeting, the Board is expected to meet in executive session at 6:45 pm in the Superintendent’s Conference Room in Central Office, 18 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803.

At the meeting, the Board is expected to award tenure to the following teachers: Alicia Gallagher, Kevin Miller, Rebecca Reina and teaching assistants:Trisha Lahn, and Marc Ritacco. Prior to the meeting, the community is invited to attend a reception in their honor at 7:30 pm in the PMHS Library. Light refreshments will be served.

In addition to Dr. Champ’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, as well as reports on 21st Century Learning and Professional Development, Networks of Support and Social-Emotional Development, and Finances and Facilities.

The Board may also review and/or approve the following policies: Non-Resident Students – 7132 (2nd reading); Communicable diseases – 5691 (1st reading); Immunization of Student – 7511 (1st reading); Student Physicals – 7512 (1st reading); Accidents and medical emergencies – 7520 (1st reading); Student Health records – 7514 (1st reading); Sports and the athletic program – 7420 (1st reading). These policies are available for review on BoardDocs as part of the meeting agenda which will be available for viewing 24 hours before the meeting.
