Pelham Fire Chief James DiNapoli provided the following information on the department’s new engine:

“The Pelham Fire Department debuts its new 2019 Spartan Smeal Pumper at the Memorial Day Parade. The new pumper truck replaces a nearly 22-year-old Seagrave pumper that served the village since 1998. The new truck features all the latest NFPA required safety features like anti-lock brakes, passenger and drivers air bags to name a few. It’s is equipped to handle almost any emergency with the most up-to-date rescue equipment, including the Jaws-of-Life for vehicle accidents and life saving-medical equipment like a cardiac defibrillator. It is also equipped with a 2,000 gallon-per-minute pump and over 2,100 feet of hose to fight almost any fire. Be sure to stop by the Pelham Firehouse on Fifth Avenue to have an up close look after the parade.”
