Jon Peter Pearson Jr. – June 7

Captain Jon Peter Pearson Jr. of Pelham set sail on his final Journey on June 7th 2019. He was 52 years Old.

Jon who was known to all as Captain Pete was born in New Rochelle Hospital to Jon and Patricia Pearson on December 24th 1966. He was raised in Pelham where he attended Hutchinson School and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School in 1984.

After graduating High School Peter began his career as a First mate on the Klondike IX before becoming a captain. To say Peter loved all things nautical would be an understatement. His job was his life and hobby. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, friends and visiting Florida in the winter.

Peter will be remembered as a fearless, funny and a caring person. Some will remember him as outspoken while others will remember him as a hero who saved many lives while working on the water.

Peter is survived by his father, Jon Peter Sr., his 3 children; Jon, Jessica, Melissa and his 2 stepchildren Nicholas & Victoria. He will also be missed by his brother; Robert, sister in law Angela, nephew Adam, niece Jillian and daughter in law Tricia. He is predeceased by his mother Patricia.

A celebration of Peter’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham NY on Wednesday June 12th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass will take place at Holy Family Church located at 83 Clove Rd, New Rochelle on Thursday June 13 that 10:30am. Peter’s remains will be laid to rest at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
