Tribeca-closer Yesterday gets June 25 advance screening at Picture House

June 11, 2019 – Pelham, NY – On Tuesday, June 25th at 7:30 p.m. The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) will host an advance screening of Yesterday (116 mins., PG-13). The film closed out the Tribeca Film Festival with its world premiere on May 4th, 2019 where it received a two minute standing ovation.

In Yesterday, Jack Malik is a struggling singer-songwriter in an English seaside town whose dreams of fame are rapidly fading, despite the fierce devotion and support of his childhood best friend, Ellie. After a freak bus accident during a mysterious global blackout, Jack wakes up to discover that The Beatles have never existed. Performing songs by the greatest band in history to a world that has never heard them, Jack becomes on overnight sensation with a little help from his agent.

Directed by the Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) and written by Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral), Yesterday stars Himesh Patel (EastEnders), Lily James (Darkest Hour, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Downton Abbey), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) and the musician Ed Sheeran. Yesterday will premiere exclusively in Westchester at The Picture House three days prior to its national theatrical release.
