Nine Pelham varsity and junior varsity rugby players were selected for the New York State All-Star team, which is the equivalent of all-state honors. The team played in a regional all-star tournament against squads representing Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Nick Lapponnesse, Omar Elabdouni and Lantz Riggio were picked from the Pelham varsity team. For the JV team, Sean O’Brien, Philip Dulock, Ajdin Pelinkovic, Kojo Sheng, Dylan Lewis and Ryan Thompson got the nod.

At the regional tournament, the New York varsity team finished fourth out of the seven states. The JV team went undefeated and finished first in the tournament. The New York JV squad team was ranked number four in the nation after the tournament victory.

O’Brien and Dulock were selected to play for the U.S. in an international game against Canada.
