National Weather Service issues severe thunderstorm watch—with ‘a couple of tornadoes’ possible
I never like seeing mention of “a couple tornadoes” as being possible in the day’s forecast, but through 10 p.m. tonight, you should probably keep one eye on the radar, if you live anywhere in the yellow splotch above.
“A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the entire tri-state area through 10 p.m. tonight,” said the National Weather Service. “The main threat will be damaging winds with gusts to 70 mph. Isolated hail to quarter size (1-inch diameter) and a couple of tornadoes are also possible.”
