At Pelham’s Wolfs Walk, on Saturday Sept 7, the Pelham Democratic Committee invited children 10 and under to answer the two-part question: “What makes Pelham a great place to live, and what does your family do to help make it great?” Kids as young as 4 participated, with answers including that Pelham “has great schools and great teachers,” “is close to New York City,” and “there’s a bunch of things to do.” 8-year-old Lexi Cullen won a gift certificate to Double Rainbow Ice Cream, for her response, “Pelham is great because it’s a community where everybody can share and live and work together as friends and family.  We try not to use any plastic so we don’t hurt the ocean, and we’re always nice to people.”

This is the second year the Pelham Democrats sponsored this contest at Wolfs Walk. Lexi Cullen was the runner-up last year, when the question was, “Why is it important to vote?”
