Editor’s note: This press release updating Thursday’s announcement was provided by the Village of Pelham Manor.

The schedule for milling and paving Pelhamdale Ave. has been refined.

Milling, the process of removing asphalt along the curb line prior to resurfacing, is now scheduled to occur on Wednesday, September 25th. On this day NO PARKING will be allowed along the length of the project beginning at Boston Post Road to Colonial Ave. The road will remain open to traffic on this day and residents along Pelhamdale will have vehicular access to their homes.

The following day, September 26th, resurfacing of the entire project will take place. Again, NO PARKING will be allowed along the length of the project beginning at Boston Post Road to Colonial Ave. In addition, on September 26th, this portion of Pelhamdale will be closed to ALL vehicular traffic, including residents along Pelhamdale. The reason for this closure is to provide the best circumstances for a smooth and durable finished product. Resurfacing is never perfect, but we want to give the contractor every opportunity to make Pelhamdale, a high use road, as evenly paved, compacted and cooled as possible.

Residents who live along this portion of Pelhamdale and anticipate needing to use their vehicle during the day should move their vehicle to a side street before 7 AM on the 26th. The Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking limitations on side streets for this day in recognition of the needs of area residents.

All of the above schedule is weather dependent and if any changes occur, they will be posted here.
