Thrive Barre & Fitness opens new studio in downtown Pelham, offerings include 305 dance fitness classes

Thrive Barre & Fitness, an independent fitness and nutrition studio, has opened a new location in Pelham after 11 years at the Christ Church campus. The new space is located at 125 Wolfs Lane next to Tig & Peach, the fairly new indoor play space for young children.

Some of the features of the new Thrive space are a large fitness studio, a tea lounge, changing rooms, a beauty bar and a workout-wear boutique.

Carol Hinchcliffe, one of the co-owners of Thrive, said, “In our old studio, we could only fit twelve to thirteen people, but in our new studio we’ll be able to have twenty to twenty one people in each class… The whole space is bigger and brighter, and we have a great retail addition now.”

“Now that we are on a busy main street, people can come off the train and right into one of our classes,” said Danielle Franklin, the other co-owner of Thrive. “After classes, people can get a bite to eat at J Cafe. We wanted to give our community a place to hang out and to feel comfortable in. We want to reach a broader demographic, and we want to reach out to young people. We’re all about empowering people and are looking forward to welcoming clients—ones we’ve known for years and new ones as well to our new space.”

At the new studio, the owners are looking forward to offering additional barre classes, nutrition counseling and introducing an all new 305 dance fitness class, which is an intense dance cardio program inspired by the Miami club scene. The classes are taught by certified 305 fitness instructors, and Thrive is one of the only studios outside of New York City to offer this highly popular class.

All classes are offered mornings, afternoons and evenings, seven days a week, and the workout-wear boutique will also be open during these hours.

“For us, it’s all about looking good, being comfortable and feeling fun,” said Kristy Mount, Thrive’s retail buyer and operations manager. “We’re going to bring in brands that people maybe haven’t seen before—things you can’t just find at the mall.”

The 305 classes will be fun for high schoolers  because “it’s basically a dance party and a workout,” said Franklin. “As a former dancer, I’m personally thrilled to bring 305 fitness to Pelham.”

Thrive’s grand opening party was held Thursday.
