School board meeting Wednesday will be on YouTube, following almost 3-hour closed session on hiring

The Pelham Board of Education will meet via video conference at 5:30pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 and anticipates entering into executive session to discuss the possible employment of a particular individual(s). The public session of the meeting is expected to begin at 8:15pm and can be viewed on YouTube live.

At the public meeting the Board will continue its review of the preliminary 2020-21 budget. Additionally, Rick Ganci of Capital Markets Advisors will review the District’s current capital debt and anticipated borrowing related to the 2018 Capital Improvement Bond.

In addition to Dr. Champ’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, Finances and Facilities, and the three goal areas of the Strategic Plan: Cultural Competence, Authentic Learning, and the Whole Child.

The Board may also review and/or approve the following policies: 7131 – Education of Homeless Children and Youth (Third Reading); 7522 – Concussion Management (Third Reading); 6121 – Sexual Harassment in the Workplace (First Reading).

Please note that due to public health and safety concerns, the public will not be permitted to attend this meeting in person or at the remote locations where the Board of Education members will be situated. The public may participate in the meeting by submitting written comments to [email protected] before 9:30pm. A video and transcript of the meeting will be made available at a later date.
