Local parks are available to get outdoors, while some offer online programming
Some parks are open around Pelham for people to get outdoor time, while others, along with certain nature centers, have taken steps to bring their activities to homes.
According to the Westchester Parks Department website, here is a sample what’s open, closed and moved online in and around Pelham:
What’s open:
- Wolfs Walk park
- Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx
What’s closed:
- Glen Island Park (It’s a Covid-19 drive-through testing area)
- Ballfields
- Julianne’s Playground
- In-person visits at the Westchester Parks Permit Office at 450 Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley
What’s online:
- Curator Videos: Solitary bees at Read Sanctuary | Sounds of nature | Flower research project | Grooming at Muscoot Farm | “Fossil dig” at Read Sanctuary.
