Charlotte Howard, executive editor of the Pelham Examiner, was New York State representative to the Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference in D.C. last June, where she met Emma Suttell, the student repping Arizona. Over the past few weeks, Suttell produced, wrote and edited a video piece on how student journalists in senior year are dealing with the pandemic—and how they view their future in a profession facing serious economic difficulties.
