How to vote in June 23 primary—early, absentee and on election day

Editor’s note: This notice was provided by County Legislator Terry Clements.

There are many ways to vote in the upcoming June 23 Primary Elections:

Early, in-person voting continues through Sunday, June 21

Primary Election Day, in-person voting takes place Tuesday, June 23

  • Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, your local polling place is probably different from where you’ve voted in the past
  • To locate your polling place you may use the Board of Elections look-up app at https://citizenparticipation.westchestergov.com/find-polling-place
  • Please follow the onscreen directions for how to enter street name abbreviations

Absentee Voting

  • If you have requested and received absentee ballots, you still have time to return them
  • Returned ballots must be postmarked no later than Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 23
  • You may also return your absentee ballots in person to the County Board of Elections at 25 Quarropas Street in White Plains
  • Even if you applied for an absentee ballot, or sent in an absentee ballot, you still have the right to vote in person instead.  Should you decide to vote in person you must be allowed to do so and your absentee ballot will be discarded.

This year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many people will be voting by absentee ballot for the first time.  It’s not hard, but if you’re doing it for the first time, it might be a little confusing.

We have prepared a video to help guide voters through the proper procedures for marking and returning absentee ballots, which we hope will be helpful: https://vimeo.com/430486373

I urge you to please vote, our democracy is depending on it.
