Mary Chiappa age 91, passed away peacefully three days shy of her 92nd birthday, on Monday June 22nd, 2020. She was born in Manhattan, NY on June 25th, 1928 to August and Elizabeth Bertucci. She graduated from Washington Irving High School and then moved with her parents and beloved brother Johnnie (deceased) to the Bronx. She worked as a secretary for the American Kennel Club, Foster Wheeler, and then many years for the corporate offices of the Singer Company until her retirement.

She married her childhood sweetheart Joseph (Georgie) on July 2nd 1950 and they raised their 2 daughters in the Bronx. After her husband’s death, she moved to Pelham, NY. She was an avid member of the Pelham Senior Citizen’s Club and enjoyed the many outings and events where you would always find her on the dance floor.

She was a proud and devoted mother and grandmother to daughters Joan Gordon (Michael, deceased) and Carol Santini (Gerard, Sr.) and grandchildren Gerard Santini, Jr., Andrea Santini, and Chelsea Gordon who were the light of her life. She cherished the annual family trips they took to Long Beach Island. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
