Queries why ‘so many’ staff departures since Champ became superintendent

To the editor:

I am trying to understand why so many very fine principals and educators are leaving our school district to go to other school districts over the past two years. Since Dr. Cheryl Champ came on board, it seems we have had an exodus. Perhaps it’s due to the change at the helm or perhaps it’s due to changing times. With the departure of Colonial Principal Tonya Wilson, who I personally worked with over the last six years, I am now beginning to wonder if our teachers are being treated fairly. Why is the grass greener somewhere else? As a taxpayer and a parent, I’m concerned.

Do you think the Examiner can dig more into this story and understand what is really going on?
