Metro-North running weekend schedule on Tuesday because of storm, warns of disruptions after 3 p.m.

Editor’s note: This announcement was provided by County Legislator Terry Clements.

On Tuesday, August 4, the National Weather Service predicts that Tropical Storm Isaias will reach the New York and Connecticut region.  Winds are predicted to reach 60-70 mph across our service area by 3 PM, with the potential for downed trees and power lines across the Metro-North’s service area.

To help minimize the impact of Tropical Storm Isaias on service, Metro-North will be operating a weekend schedule on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines on Tuesday, August 4. In addition, Metro-North urges customers to plan to complete their travel by 3 PM on Tuesday. After 3 PM, travel will be subject to service disruptions and lengthy delays. Train cancellations and combinations are possible.

Tomorrow’s schedule will be as follows:

  • Hudson Line
  • Harlem Line (Wassaic-Southeast, see below)
  • New Haven Line
    • The Wassaic Branch will have train service every 2 hours. See  new.mta.info  for Wassaic schedule.
    • Danbury Branch will have train service every 3 hours.
    • New Canaan Branch will have hourly service.
    • Waterbury Branch buses will run approximately every three hours.

You can access the schedule online at new.mta.info.  For train times, and real-time arrival and departure times on your smartphone, download TrainTime. Please continue to check back at this website, and on Facebook and Twitter for up-to-the minute updates to service. Customers can also use our automated phone system at 511 (in Connecticut call 877-690-5114) or to speak with a representative dial 646-252-1701.

Metro-North will have personnel and equipment pre-positioned to be prepared for storm-related issues. Metro-North urges all customers to take care when traveling. Stay clear of the platform edges, use handrails, and walk carefully when entering or exiting stations and boarding or leaving trains.  Please allow for extra travel time and listen for announcements at your station. Please note, face coverings are required on all Metro-North property and trains.
