Pelham Democratic Committee appeals to young adults with new youth council
With the November elections just around the corner, political parties are looking to expand their platforms to the younger generation. The Pelham Democratic Committee has done this by adding a Young Democrats Council.
This allows high schoolers to get involved with politics and work as partners with the Committee.
The new group closed applications on Sept 30, but since an underwhelming number of high schoolers applied the committee has decided to take a step back and rework what they planned.
“We had a general framework in mind already, that’s evolving to address the changing circumstances,” said Marin Zielinski, chairwoman of the Pelham Democratic Committee.
The committee is still trying to figure out what projects the council will work on, “ways of measuring success, nature, and form of feedback from mentors, etc.”
More information on the Young Democrats Committee is available on their website.
