Pelham Schools to close all in-person instruction in preparation for winter storm
The Pelham Union Free School District has reported that all in-person instruction will be closed on Thursday, advance preparation for storm heading toward the town, with the decision to either have fully remote instruction or have a snow day to be determined by tomorrow morning.
“We are continuing the monitor the winter storm, which is expected to produce a significant amount of snow and high winds Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, creating the potential for dangerous travel and widespread power/internet outages,” stated the school district in an email sent to students and parents on Tuesday.
The email went on, “While we have not yet decided whether Thursday will be a school day, a snow day, or if we will be able to make use of a remote instruction day, students should take home all necessary learning materials.”
In a later phone call and via text, the district confirmed that Thursday will either be a fully remote or snow day for Pelham students. The decision to choose the instruction method will be made by 7 a.m. tomorrow.
