Editor’s note: The announcement was provided by the Village of Pelham Manor.

The Pelham Manor Fire Department continues its great community outreach with its annual Toys for Tots Donation Drive. This year more than most, the PMFD’s efforts and community service were critically important, given the pandemic.

The PMFD and Pelham Manor Fire Benevolent Association have collected over 800 toys to date. Deliveries of those toys include: Hope Community Center New Rochelle, New Rochelle Youth Bureau, Operation Jamie’s Angels Toy for Tots in New Jersey, Mt. Siani South Hospital in Nassau County, Hunts Point Community Center, and the Wildflower Charter School in Morrisania section of Bronx. We are sending toys to Toys for Tots run by The Westchester Emerald Society, too.

When the PMFD and Benevolent Association donated to Hope Community Center in New Rochelle, their leadership indicated they wished they had shelves, as toys were on the floor and tables. Our amazing firemen went to Home Depot in New Rochelle and secured two shelf systems, donated by Home Depot, and also purchased two additional shelves to surprise the folks at Hope Community Center.

They are still collecting and sending toys. This has been a group effort by the PMFD and the Benevolent Association. Our team enjoys putting smiles on faces of so many.

The Village of Pelham Manor and its residents send a heartfelt thank you to the PMFD and the Benevolent Association for all their efforts during the holiday season and this toy drive. Your humanity and selflessness have brought cheer to many children across the region. Thank you.
