WinterFest to bring musicians, treats to Pelham homes evening of Jan. 9

Editor’s note: This press release was provided by Pelham Together.

A January surprise is in store for Pelham neighbors! Pelham Together and the Pelham Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to extend the beauty of the holidays—the lights, the music, the sweets—and give neighbors a reason to be TOGETHER, while staying safely apart. WinterFest invites families to walk or drive around Pelham to enjoy lights, music, and treats. A map will show participants where they can find all the fun!

We are asking neighbors to please keep their holiday lights glowing a little longer this year for our event on Saturday, January 9th from 5-8pm (snow date, Sunday, January 10th). We are recruiting musicians to perform in front of their homes, and local businesses to donate and/or sell snacks and warm beverages. Families can participate by opting to have their festively-lit home (it doesn’t have to be holiday lights!) added to our map. Musicians and families who would like to participate should email [email protected]. Businesses that would like to provide refreshments should email [email protected]. With community involvement, we hope to make a stroll through different neighborhoods a feel-good experience to lift our moods this winter and remind us that we are all still together….even though we’re apart.

WinterFest is being led by a team of volunteers who wanted to give our community something to look forward to in January. Laura Caruso, Pelham Together Executive Director, explained, “We’ve been looking for new ways to bring Pelham together during  the pandemic, and WinterFest allows community members to connect in a safe way, surrounded by the brightest parts of the season – beautiful lights, live music by local talent, and delicious treats.” The Pelham Chamber of Commerce was quick to join in. Chamber President, Cristina Chianese added, “We’re thrilled to be a part of this event. Thanks to Pelham Together, this event provides a meaningful way for our local businesses to not only engage with our community but celebrate Pelham as a whole!”
