SAT, FEB. 20: Livestream Concert Celebrates Brazilian Carnaval
Jazz Forum will present a livestream concert that will celebrate Brazil’s Carnaval and jazz this Saturday. Mark Morganelli & The Jazz Forum All-Stars will perform sambas, bossa novas and Carnaval favorites, complete with dancing by Miss Brazil America Natalie De Ferrari. SAT, FEB. 20: Virtual Concert: Ted Daniel
This Saturday, Bethany Arts Community will present a virtual performance by jazz trumpeter and composer Ted Daniel. Daniel began his professional career playing local gigs with his childhood friend, legendary guitarist Sonny Sharrock. Since then, Daniel has participated in more than 30 published recordings with Archie Shepp, Dewey Redman and other artists. Begins at 5pm. |

TUES, FEB. 23: Virtual Artist Talk: Rich Brown
Clay Art Center will host a virtual artist talk with ceramic artist Rich Brown, an exhibiting artist in the Center’s online exhibition Concepts In Clay: Artists of Color. Brown will discuss his journey toward discovering ceramics and how working with clay has shaped the direction of his life. Begins at 7pm via Zoom. WED, FEB. 24: Virtual Concert: Jazz and Broadway Standards
Downtown Music at Grace (DTM)’s “Wednesday Concert” series returns with a virtual concert that will celebrate the works of Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein. Vocalist Kimberly Hawkey and pianist David Budway will bring their cabaret style to a selection of jazz and Broadway standards, such as Blue Moon, It Might as Well Be Spring and more. The livestream begins at 12:15pm via the DTM’s YouTube page. |
