Maryalice Borsell – March 24

Maryalice Borsella, a resident of Pelham for 62 years, passed away peacefully with all five children by her side on March 24, 2021. Maryalice was born in Mt. Vernon on January 27, 1933 to the late David and Mary (Woolbright) Bross. After raising her family, she worked at Salesian High School in New Rochelle, NY. She also led many fundraising events for Salesian, St. Catherine’s in Pelham and Nazareth Nursery in New York City.

Maryalice was predeceased by her husband Ralph of 62 years, her granddaughter, Julianne, and her six sisters and one brother. Ralph was the love of her life and together they made a generous and inseparable team. She is survived by her children Roberta (Les) Farnum of Charlotte, NC; Ralph Jr. (Marguerite) of New Rochelle, Victor (Alice) of Cortlandt Manor, Anthony (Maureen) of Pelham and Donna Juliano of Pelham. She will be missed by her loving grandchildren Sara, Chris, Kelly, Jason, Anthony, Kristen, Justin, David and Evan and great grandsons Ralph and Casey.

Maryalice will be remembered for cooking large batches of delicious soups and memorable holiday meals and for opening her home to family and friends. Together with her husband they provided those they loved with a place to live for days, months or years and gave a loving home to three foster children. Maryalice and Ralph were at their happiest when they hosted large gatherings of family and friends, especially at their weekend house at Lake Copake, New York.

At Maryalice’s request, her viewing will be private. All are welcome to attend her memorial Mass which will be celebrated on her anniversary at St Catharine’s Church in Pelham on April 24th at 10:00 AM.
