Michael R. Boccardi – April 13

Michael Roy Boccardi, 76, died on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY due to sudden pulmonary illness. Michael, known by most as Mike, was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on June 1, 1944 to the late Leonard Daniel Boccardi and Rose Rita Messenger Boccardi. He attended A.B. Davis High School in Mt. Vernon and upon completion, he joined the United States Navy and served from 1961-1965.

Mike joined the Pelham Police department in 1966 where he served for 26 years and rose to the high rank of Chief of Police before retiring in 1992. He was a decorated officer who received many commendations and was highly regarded in the community.

Mike is survived by his daughter Michelle (Todd) Bronson of Albany, NY; three grandchildren, Taylor, Christopher, and Nicholas; his brother Lawrence (Lynda) Boccardi; his sister, Jacqueline Boccardi; his former wife Carol Boccardi; and by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Michael Andrew Boccardi whom I’m sure was waiting for him in heaven with open arms. Mike left behind many friends and family on whom he has left a lasting impression. And while he will be missed dearly, his memory will live on in all of our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass on Friday April 23, 2021 at noon at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, 25 Second Avenue, Pelham, NY 10803.
