Area students learn documentary making at the Picture House

Editor’s note: This news release was provided by the Picture House.

The Picture House Education Program just wrapped a week-long documentary intensive camp for high school students that included three local students from PMHS. We partnered with Furniture Sharehouse, a nonprofit organization in White Plains, to bring an outstanding documentary filmmaking experience to high school students from all across lower Westchester.

Syd Thayer, former documentary producer for ESPN and Pelham Rotary Club honoree, was our esteemed guest speaker during the second day of class.

Students had the opportunity to learn new media skills, gain exposure to the entertainment industry and give back to their community by creating a short documentary to help Furniture Sharehouse honor their volunteers and spread their message.
