Foto Feature: New York Botanical Gardens opens new exhibit by artist Yayoi Kusama
The New York Botanical Gardens are currently open to visitors, with social distancing guidelines. A new exhibit at the Gardens, “Kusama: Cosmic Nature,” is now on display. This exhibit was postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, but is now open until Oct. 31.
The installment showcases the art of Yayoi Kusama, an artist known for her fascination with nature and her use of polka-dots. Her art is immersive and deeply rooted in the natural world and concepts of infinity, eternity and obliteration. The exhibit includes many of Yayoi Kusama’s nature-inspired sculptures, as well as a mirrored “infinity room,” a garden inspired by one of her paintings and more.
