To the editor:

As a 12 year veteran of the Pelham school board, I am pleased to join the chorus of Pelham voices who are supporting the reelection of Eileen Miller and Jess Young to the Pelham school board. Eileen and Jess have been very effective board members during their three year tenure and have helped guide the district through these most difficult of times. They deserve our continued support.

Miller and Young’s accomplishments on the Pelham school board have been well-documented. Let me cite just two. Miller led the development of the 2019 Strategic Plan and continues to support growth and improvement in the district through implementation of the strategic plan and through her work on the Cultural Competency Committee. Jess has led the Bond Steering Committee which has the very important job of overseeing the construction of the new Hutchinson School and other district construction projects. Each has also been a very effective representative for the Pelham community on a wide variety of issues.

To the other candidates who have thrown their hats in the ring, I applaud your efforts, thank you for your willingness to serve and look forward to the future contributions you make to the Pelham community.

Finally, I want to add a word of gratitude and thanks to our Pelham faculty, staff and administration for working tirelessly on behalf of our children during this very difficult time. Your efforts are admired and much appreciated.
