Pelham schools increase spectators allowed at outdoor sports to 500 people
Pelham Athletic Director Christian Hodge announced that Pelham would be increasing the number of fans that are allowed at outdoor home athletic events to 500 in a recent email sent to Pelham families.
This is decision, effective immediately, is a huge increase from the two spectators per player that were allowed at athletic events previously.
The increase comes in accordance with the New York State Department of Health. In accordance with these guidelines, spectators will still be required to wear masks and respect social distancing guidelines. In addition, indoor athletics can have up to 250 fans in attendance starting May 19th.
“The Pelicans community has been exceptionally respectful of the protocols put in place regarding spectators at games,” Hodge said. “I would like to thank everyone in advance for their continued understanding.”
