The Rotary Club of the Pelhams announced that Caroline M. Spana, a graduating senior of Pelham Memorial High School, is the recipient of its 2021 Rotary Scholarship.

Caroline will receive $12,000 towards her education at Villanova University, in annual installments of $3,000.

The Rotary scholarship, which dates back to the 1960s, was originally awarded to graduates aspiring to careers in nursing. Caroline is the 21st student to earn this award since 1990.

Like so many PMHS graduates, Caroline’s achievements are many, varied and impactful.

As a member of the Girl Scouts of America, Caroline earned its three highest project awards, Gold, Silver and Bronze, for her work in Saving Seasides, Improving the Lives of Shelter Animals and Soldiers Care Packages, respectively. Moreover, she added to her GSA efforts enough time and energy to become an Eagle Scout Project Volunteer (Troop 1, Pelham).

She achieved High Honor Roll and AP Scholar and membership in six honor societies, as well as a NY State Regional Winning Website Design “Women’s Suffrage”.

She plans to study Computer Science and a pursue a position in Cyber Security.
