Francis Amody – Sept. 4

Francis “Chip” Amody, age 76, of Pelham, NY passed away September 4, 2021, in Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital, New York. He was born on July 9, 1945, in White Plains, NY, the son of Pasquale “Pat” and Florence Amody.

Chip was raised in Mount Vernon with his two sisters. He attended St. Catherine’s School in Pelham and graduated from Stepinac high school. He was very involved in the Boy scouts growing up. Chip worked for the USPS for 30 years and was involved with the postal service union. He was also a life member of The American Legion, Post 8 – New Rochelle Chapter. Chip was an Army Vet and served during the Vietnam era.

Chip Loved Aeronautical History. He was very proud of his research and authored several articles on the subject. Chip will be remembered as hardworking, friendly and a good friend.

Chip is survived by his sister; Allyson Post, his nephew, Joseph Noonan; his niece, Jennifer Smoker; his dearest friends, Paul and Carole Trotta; their children, Matthew and Michael Trotta, and last but not least, Rolf. Chip was predeceased by his sister Jaqueline Noonan, and his parents, Pasquale and Florence Amody.

A celebration of Chip’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Friday, September 17th from 9:30AM-10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help RC Church located at 559 Pelham Manor Rd., Pelham NY.
