School district thanks Pelham Booster Club, asks residents to support it
Editor’s note: This press release was provided by the Pelham Union Free School District. The Pelham Examiner publishes press releases in the form received as a service to the community.
Dear Pelham Community,
As the winter athletic season gets into full swing, the Pelham Public Schools would like to take a moment to thank the Pelham Booster Club for all that they do to support our student-athletes and coaches.
The Pelham Booster Club has long been a fixture in our community and assists our athletic department in a variety of ways, including awarding scholarships, funding attendance at coaching clinics, providing the food/snack truck at fall/spring events and hosting the annual senior sports awards dinner. The Booster Club is currently in the midst of its fall campaign and we are proud to support these efforts. Please read more about the club below and I hope that you will consider supporting this important organization if you are able.
With Gratitude,
The Pelham Public Schools
For more than forty years, the Pelham Booster Club has remained vigilant in its mission of supporting Pelham student athletes, the Pelham athletic program and sports community as a whole. The not-for-profit organization is comprised of a group of community members who volunteer their time to support, enhance and expand the academic, social and athletic experience of each student at Pelham Memorial High School.
You may have purchased a hot dog or popcorn at a Pelham game from their famous Booster Truck whereby 100% of the sales from the Truck – as well as from other fundraising endeavors – goes to providing enhancements and initiatives that fall outside the school budget such as team trips, coaching clinics, awards banners, trophies and plaques, and other special projects such as replacing the scoreboards at the Glover Sports complex. Additionally the Booster Club annually funds and distributes more than $25,000 in scholarships to PMHS graduating senior student-athletes at their June Awards Banquet including the much-anticipated male and female Athlete of the Year Awards.
