The Section 1 winter sports playoff matchups and schedule have been announced for boys and girls basketball and ice hockey.

The boys basketball team, who finished 16-4, is the two-seed in Section 1, Class A, playoffs. This got them a bye past the out-bracket round, and they will play the winner of Ardsley-Rye on February 22 at home. The Pelicans swept both of these teams earlier in the regular season.

As for the girls, they come into the playoffs with an 8-12 record, good enough for the 16-seed. This pits them against John Jay (CR), who finished the season at 7-12. The teams did not meet during the regular season and the game will be played on Thursday, December 16, at 4:30 in the Middle School Gym.

The hockey team, still the top-ranked in the state, begins their state title pursuit on Monday in Section 1, Division II, playoffs. The boys have a 14-2-2 record and are the top seed in the playoffs. They will play the winner of Nyack/TZ verse Mahopac at the Ice Hutch. Nyack/TZ is 3-11, while Mahopac is 3-16.
