William Cosentino – April 19

William Cosentino of Pelham Manor, New York passed away on April 19th 2022. He was 79 years old. Born in Harlem, New York to Charles and Edith Cosentino, William was the eldest of two children. He was raised in Harlem with his brother Nicholas where he attended Arch Bishop Molloy High School in Queens before graduating from St. Johns University with a Bachelor of Arts. Growing up William loved spending time with family and friends. It was through family he would meet his wife of 50 years; Marie Santoro. The couple would marry at Immaculate Conception Church on East Gun Hill Road in the Bronx and settle on Tenbroeck Avenue.

William went to work for IBM Corporation where he spent his entire career working in the Madison Avenue and New Jersey Offices. He moved to Pelham Manor in the early 1980’s. In his spare time he loved to put his training as a pianist to work playing Christmas carols and other family favorites. He loved his home and spending time maintaining his plants and garden.  He often said he “felt like he was on vacation when he was working in the garden”. But most of all William was a family man. The highlight of his year was hosting Christmas Eve dinner with his brother and his family.

William will be remembered as entertainer, outgoing and liked by many people. He loved walking his dog Riley and talking to neighbors along the way. He adored spending time with his grandson Lucas from when he was a baby to taking him to CCD instruction and collecting him many days from school.

William is survived by his wife Marie, his Son Gregory and his grandson Lucas. He is also survived by his brother Nicholas (Joanne) Cosentino, his many nephew’s and nieces and their children. William will be missed by his extended family, many friends and everyone who knew him.
