Several coyote sightings have been reported in the Village of Pelham Manor, the police department said in an email Wednesday.

The animals were seen in the north and south areas of the village, police said.

The department recommended the following precautions:

• Be mindful of children and pets while outdoors.
• Do not feed coyotes.
• Remove all outside food sources including pet food and bird seed.
• Make garbage inaccessible.
• Don’t let pets run free.
