Champ recommends use of face masks district-wide following rise in Covid-19 cases
Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Champ recommended the wearing of face masks in the Pelham schools because the number of students and faculty testing positive for Covid-19 has increased, according to an email sent to parents Monday evening.
“While the district is not considering a return to universal masking, I believe it is prudent to recommend that students and staff consider wearing masks indoors while case levels remain high in our schools and throughout the county,” said Champ in her email.
Champ also encouraged participation in the district’s weekly saliva testing program in order to identify otherwise-unknown asymptomatic cases among students and faculty.

Can you provide the actual number of students, faculty and other staff testing positive. Also, how has this changed over the past several weeks? It would be helpful if, as a community we knew the change in positive cases, over this time, in order to see the uptick, so as to stress and reinforce the wearing of masks. Thank you.
